During the Pride March, the Lesbian Herstory Archives contingent gathered outside the Duchess with a memorial banner ('In memory of the voices we have lost') and placards bearing photographs of lesbian forebears, Radclyffe Hall and Eleanor Roosevelt among them. Barbara Alper's photograph (archived at Getty Images) is one of the only known images placing the bar in visible institutional history.
