Overview
Eli Escobar's DJ-owned Williamsburg club in the former Kinfolk 90 space, built around a vintage hi-fi sound system and a no-pressure door.
Gabriela is a Williamsburg club opened on December 15, 2023 at Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street, in the space that previously housed Kinfolk 90. It is co-founded by DJ and producer Eli Escobar with his childhood friend Rafael Ohayon (owner of Cafe Mogador) and Ohayon's cousins Justin Ahiyon and Ilan Telmont, co-owners of House of Yes, and is named in memory of a friend of Escobar's from the nightlife community who died during the pandemic. The room is associated with a sound system of vintage hi-fi equipment — including speakers by Gary Stewart and a Richard Long RLA X3000 crossover of the kind linked to Studio 54 and the Paradise Garage — and with a programming philosophy that emphasizes long sets, creative freedom for DJs, and a welcoming, low-hype door over ticket-driven lineups. As an active venue, its record remains open.
