Ladyfag
Canadian-American nightlife producer and LadyLand founder, dubbed 'a nightlife sorceress' by the New York Times
Formerly Rayne Baron
Biography
Born Rayne Baron in Toronto in 1976, Ladyfag moved to New York in 2006, became a downtown fixture, and grew into one of the city's defining party producers, dubbed 'a nightlife sorceress' by the New York Times and 'the woman saving New York nightlife' by Paper. Her recurring nights (Shade, 11:11, Holy Mountain, and the house-music institution Battle Hymn) anchored 2010s queer dancefloors across Manhattan and Brooklyn. In 2018 she founded LadyLand, a femme- and trans-forward Pride-month festival that debuted at the Brooklyn Mirage and in 2023 moved beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge in Queens.
